The Chosen One

            The Chosen One, a somewhat old Cliché trope in the art of character making had been and still is one of the most popular movie concepts. There are some reasons for why having some random ordinary pedestrian, suddenly pointed by God who says, "You there, you shall save the world!" seems very compelling. One of them is; quite simply, because at some point in our life, we are just some pedestrians. At some point in life; most likely when we are just a little kid, we ought to dream of becoming this so-called "Chosen One". By having the protagonist of the story an ex-pedestrian, the viewers and/or readers can easily relate to him/her; since he had a normal life beforehand. Moreover, the main character; in theory, will have many things in common with the viewers. Perhaps both of them hated their parents, or liked playing video games once. In the end, this way of writing can make us care more about the main characters, make the movie more enjoyable, and make the movie more profitable.
